Master's Degree in Special and Inclusive Education. Master's Degree.

Level of qualification
Second Cycle of Studies. Level 7 of the EQF. Level 7 of ISCED 2011.

Admission requirements
The following may apply for this cycle of studies:
a) Holders of a bachelor's degree or legal equivalent in education sciences, education, teaching, psychology, special education,
social education, social work, speech therapy, occupational therapy, socio-educational animation, sociology, and related areas;
b) Holders of a foreign higher education degree, awarded following a 1st cycle of studies organized in accordance
with the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to this Process;
c) Holders of a foreign higher education degree that is recognized as satisfying the objectives of a bachelor's degree by the statutorily competent scientific body of the higher education institution where they wish to be admitted;
d) Holders of an academic, scientific, or professional curriculum that is recognized by the statutorily competent body of the institution as attesting to their ability to complete this cycle of studies.

Qualification requirements and regulations
120 ECTS credits. 4 academic semesters (2 years). 40 weeks of study per year (20 weeks per semester). 1,620 total hours of study per year (27 total hours of study per ECTS credit). Variable number of contact hours (classes) depending on the schedule established for each course unit.
The Master's Degree in Special and Inclusive Education is part of the area of Education and Teacher Training, and its graduates are specialized to carry out professional activities within the scope of the study program profile.

Access to further studies
The master's degree allows students to continue their studies towards a doctorate (3rd cycle of Higher Education Studies), according to the organizational chart of the Portuguese Higher Education System, provided by NARIC (http://www.dges. mctes.pt/DGES/pt/Reconhecimento/NARICENIC/) and presented in section 8 of the Diploma Supplement.
